A Training Center is only as good as the students that fill its classrooms.  If our students are not successful, we are not successful.   Below are just a few of the many student success stories happening at ComputerTraining.com at Cincinnati, Ohio LLC.

"My computer experience before starting ComputerTraining.com was rather extensive; however it was also outdated knowledge, as well as not as in-depth as I had thought. I had always enjoyed working with computers and wanted to expand that enjoyment into a career, because working in retail I kept running into the problem of being laid off. The thing that excites me most about my new career, as well as the career path I am now on, is the freedom. I work when and if I want to, and that freedom has given me more opportunity to spend more time with my children; time that I never used to have working in retail and sales.

My biggest fear about entering the program was fear of failure. I overcame this fear by studying twice as hard and applying myself to every single challenge that was out in front of me. Advice that I would give to new students is that they need to study hard. When they think they’ve studied enough and are ready to test, they’ll need to study even more. This class is the most difficult thing I have ever encountered and I recommend that you cannot let a single day pass without reading classroom text, or performing lab, or taking a practice test. The experience of this class has changed my life. I am a network technician and I make $82,000 a year. That is a far cry from the $13.00 an hour I was making before I became certified with this program, and that is a serious life change as well."

"My computer background was basically helping my mom, brothers, sister and friends doing basic tasks on their computers. It all seemed like basic skills to me and it just made sense to me while I was working on a computer. I considered getting certified, because it sounded like a good idea to say I that I was “certified”, rather than saying I fix the family’s home computer from time to time.

I really like my new job because all I’m doing with my time is configuring computers non-stop. It is really fast-paced and I always have something going on in the position. Half the time I’m so involved in what I’m doing, I don’t bother looking at the clock. My biggest concern when entering the program was keeping up with the reading the books in their entirety. The books seem really big and full of many concepts what I had never known that a computer even did. For some reason after reading a chapter, it seemed like nothing really sank in at all. I was kind of worried that I wouldn’t understand anything from reading. However, during the next class session, the instructor basically discussed all the key points of the chapter I read a day or two before. Afterwards, I would briefly scan through the chapter and say, “Ah, that’s what that is.” or “That’s what he meant.”

To any new students considering enrolling with ComputerTraining.com, I would advise to go into it headstrong. When you begin in class, you must have solid concentration for the next six months to come. You cannot join and think that you'll gain the knowledge through osmosis by sleeping with the book under your head at night. The key things for me were test prep, labs and more test prep. Test prep provided me with most of the knowledge I learned by myself. Labs provided an actual visualization of the screen doing the process.

After graduating from ComputerTraining.com, I had finally landed a job as a configuration tech at a computer loaner program. I was beginning to feel slightly worried I wouldn’t get a new job before graduating. My interviews were not up to par, during the first few, but I did have many interviews. After interviewing for the configuration tech position, I was totally confident the job was mine. All I needed to do was make up my mind to take it or try another interview. I really liked the feeling I had about walking around the building, because I would be dealing with computers, but not in an office environment."

"I purchased my first computer in 1999, so my background consisted of web surfing and email. While working for a local photographer, my job was eliminated because of competition from digital photography. I searched for a new career in a field that was not going to go away any time soon.

My biggest concern entering the program was a fear of not being able to pick up the material, but the strength of the curriculum and the skills of the instructor and staff turned me from an out-of-work photographer and into an IT Project Coordinator with a solid future!

After graduation, with the help of the Director of Placement at ComputerTraining.com, I secured employment with a company that has enjoyed exponential growth over the past five years. Being there at this time of expansion is exciting and rewarding and bodes well for my future.

To any potential students considering entering this program I would say, "Do it!" You'll have to work hard while you're there and study hard when you aren't, but the payoff at the end of the program is well worth it.

ComputerTraining.com has given me a future, and for that I am extremely grateful."

"I have always had a knack for computers and luckily, they are now used in everyday life. I decided that in high school I would take some classes my Junior and Senior year to learn about computers. I learned some basics that I needed to know that weren’t really being taught in the classes.  They just assumed that you knew these things coming in. Although I learned a lot, these classes weren’t nearly enough to get my MCSE. So after hearing the ads on the radio for ComputerTraining.com, I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. I knew that I liked computers but I really didn’t know what to do and a network engineering position sounded like something interesting to me.

Currently I am now working at the Humane Society in Dayton and in the IT department; in fact I am the whole department! I run the website and the network. My current projects will better help my career, and I like knowing that everyday I’m getting practice. Right now I’m learning about wireless network set up and software and will soon train the other employees on how to use these new tools. I like knowing that I am the IT department and I get to set up their network how I see fit and call my own shots! With my training at ComputerTraining.com, as well as this experience, I will be able to achieve my MCSE.

My biggest concern about entering the program was that I had heard mixed reviews from some friends about how tough it would be. I quickly realized that it was going to take hard work and attendance no matter what. You really have to study and study hard to succeed in the IT field. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You can only learn by asking questions and doing the labs. Try not to follow other people. Doing things independently by trial and error really helped me learn. With all this training and experience I'm no longer working at in a dead-end job making $7.25 an hour. I'm the Network Administrator for the Humane Society and I'm making $32,000 a year and it only gets better from here on out!"

"I worked as an automotive mechanic for twenty-five years.  For the last ten years I wanted to make a change, but did not know what.  One of my many hobbies was tinkering with and building computers.  When I heard the ads for ComputerTraining.com on the radio, I thought that finally I found the answer.  I could get some formal training in something that I love and turn that into a new career.

My biggest fear was to end up still turning wrenches five years from now.  So that said, I decided to overlook my fear of failure and move on with school.

I passed my first certification exam about two and a half months into the course.  A month later I passed my second exam, and a third the week after graduation.  After seven and a half months since school started, I now have my MCP certification and a job that I look forward to going to every morning as Network Administrator/PC Support.

If you love working with computers/networking and would like to be in a career that has a dynamic learning curve, then go for it like I did!  My only regret is that I did not do “IT” ten years ago."

"Before pursuing a career in IT, I was a bartender for over six years. It was good money and there was rarely a dull moment, however there was little job security and even fewer benefits. I don’t think I ever bartended anywhere that actually offered health insurance. There is not a lot of room to grow in that field and I did not want to turn into a 40 year old bartender ten years from now.

I’ve been proficient with computers since junior high, but before taking this course, I had no formal education in Information Technology, let alone any certifications. I thought that I knew a lot, but the depth this course consisted of was more than I could have imagined or hoped for. I’ve always enjoyed working with computers and software; I just never had a chance to get paid for doing such. This course has given me the tools, skills, and recognition to do just that.

My biggest fear before entering this program was not being able to understand or grasp some of the concepts covered. Thankfully my instructor quickly settled that concern with his ability to teach and explain complicated concepts clearly and in detail. I was also very concerned with being able to find a job after graduating the course. The career services department had me placed in an IT position within two weeks after the class ended.

Now, in my current position, my income has increased over 40% from my last job thanks to the training I received and the certifications I’ve attained. I work for a large cooperation as a Network Engineer and I love every minute of it. There is no ceiling to hinder how far up I can go. Five years ago I would never have believed that I could be doing what I love to do and be getting paid for it. It was very frightening to make such a drastic career change, but it has definitely paid off.

This program is fast paced and requires time and dedication in order to succeed. It is by no means easy, but if you are adamant about studying and learning current computer technologies, there is no limit to where you can take your career. If I can do it, certainly anyone with determination can."

"I had previously worked in the IT field for three years as a repair technician. I knew what I wanted to do with my life, but was having a difficult time being considered for the jobs I wanted. I made the decision to go to ComputerTraining.com and it has been a great experience for me.

The program was able to give me focus and inspire me to dedicate to something I have always enjoyed doing. Enrolling in the program pushed me harder that I would have pushed myself had I pursued these certifications on my own. The environment was open to ask questions, something that won’t be found in self study. Combining yourself with like minded peers and instructors who are able to articulate the gray areas of study and bring you a more visual overall picture is a huge benefit. If I was having trouble understanding a particular area, the instructor would be there for one-on-one instruction before class or on the weekends.

I now feel that I have the ability to be successful in the field I have chosen, and a greater understanding of what to expect. I know that I am on the right track now. The skills and knowledge, as well as the approach to learning, will prove to be a useful tool now and in the future."

"I’ve worked with computers in all my jobs, from basic word processing to database systems. My last job in retail involved and order entry and inventory system that had numerous screens and sub screens for customer service and order entry/tracking. As part of my job, I had to master all of these systems in order to train personnel from warehouse associates to store managers. It took several years to master those systems.

The company operated 72 remote sites with a central server system at the corporate offices. I had several opportunities to work with the IT department while setting up the new stores. As I became more familiar with the system and network setups, the IT department gave me more access and responsibility in regards to the system. Since my time was mainly spent training new and current associates, I found myself wanting to learn more about the networking side of the system.

My biggest fear before joining ComputerTraining.com was letting go of my long term job. I had 10 years of service there, but it was only a job, not a career. I wanted more options. I took a closer look at my job history and skills and realized that I could become more. After a visit to the ComputerTraining.com classroom, I felt my best action was to go for my Microsoft Certifications. The program met my time table and the staff impressed me with their knowledge and openness. The visit enlightened me to the potential of becoming certificatied and what a new career in IT could mean for me and my family.

My new career offers more job security and earning potential than my previous retail career. Since graduating, I have found out first hand that there are many open positions for certified IT professionals in my area.

The best advice I can give is STUDY! Read the chapters before class and quiz yourself. Find a good lab partner and compare notes. You’ll be surprised that something you struggle with us shared by others. The second suggestion is to do the labs at home. This really helps on the quizzes and simulation tests.

I feel that I’m on the right path. There are more job opportunities for me now than ever before!

"I was working in construction on a cold and rainy March day, listening to the radio, when I heard a commercial for ComputerTraining.com. The ad told me to take their Online Skills Challenge. That evening when I got home from work, I took the challenge. Having a computer background I was able to correctly answer 29 out of the 30 questions. I received a phone call to come in and see the class. I was already familiar with the Microsoft certifications and had tried to learn about Windows NT4.0 on my own years earlier, but with little success. I had worked in the computer field repairing image setters, but after leaving that company I found that just my experience alone was not enough to get me a job. A friend who had been in the computer field thought the certifications would definitely help me get back into the field.

I felt comfortable with my abilities on computers, but came to realize that there were many holes in the knowledge I had. The class started to fill those holes and gave me a stronger foundation to build on.

I spent my summer studying and taking tests.

After graduating in November, I did contract work through Robert Half Technologies until I received an offer from Siemens Business Services for a Helpdesk Level II position. I’m making more money in a better environment and with a better chance of moving up than being stuck in a dead-end construction job. I enjoyed the class so much I was only too happy to volunteer and be accepted into the junior trainer program. I have continued to study and have my CompTIA A+ certification now as well. I consider the class to be a benefit and a good investment into myself."

"I’ve been working in the IT field since the late 1970's in a support role of others. I've taken several courses in the in past, just never became certified. I had thought about getting Microsoft certified for a long time, so when I heard the commercials on the radio for ComputerTraining.com, I thought I would make appointment to see what they had to offer. I went in for the seminar and liked what I saw and heard. Although, just like a lot of other people, I thought getting certified was impossible, so I decided to take the plunge.

The course materials and lab environment was so oriented and focused on my success and understanding of the subject matter with the study time and instructor support, I felt more confident in my abilities and my continued success.

After the first month I successfully passed my first Microsoft certification exam. Within the next few weeks I was involved in a serious car accident and missed about four weeks of class time. I could have easily given up, but with support and encouragement of my instructors I have successfully obtained my MCSA and MCSE certifications.

The greatest key to my success was my instructor. His dynamic presentation of the curriculum was clear and thorough; the technical mastery he demonstrated during the hands-on labs really made them an effective way to learn. Above all, my instructor showed a personal concern for me and my understanding of the concepts and procedures, as well as interest in my thoughts about the class. At the end of my class I accepted an offer to come back as a junior trainer to help others in obtaining their futures. During this time I'm continuing to study so I can complete my CCNA and MCDBA certifications by the end of the year.

I, like many others before me, am proof that if you are willing to work hard and study, ComputerTraining.com will give you what you need to succeed in the field of IT.

To my instructor, I thank you for your desire to teach, your patience and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure we all succeed in a very demanding and always changing field."
